We were very disappointed! We thought it was a fast and easy way to explore the city and get a first overview. But we were disappointed. Firstly, there was no schedule. Rumours said the next tram would come in about 10 minutes so we waited. We ended up waiting for 30 minutes then it came. we were not immediately allowed in because the driver off the 12 seater waited for two people who had already bought a ticket. They were not there and they didn’t show up for another 10 minutes.
In the meantime, seven of us had already taken a seat on the little electronic vehicle after those 10 minutes the driver decided to take other people on board and filled the vehicle. Then he started to collect our cash. When we were finished and about to leave, the two people With the tickets showed up and the driver removed two of the passengers from the bus again! He returned their cash.
Everybody looked at each other in astonishment…
Then finally, we started moving. The tour was announced to take about 40 minutes. We first went a little bit through the old town where there were no cars allowed. That was fine but then after a few minutes, the driver drove onto the crowded public streets where there was heavy traffic . It was the rush-hour . As a consequence, we moved extremely slowly, and the driver had to break again and again. This and the uneven underground caused the trolley to make a lot of noise, screeching, and groaning. Thus it was very hard to understand the recorded guided tour (in several languages).
As you can see in my photo the view was not good either. The ceiling was very low, and the windows were rather small. Historic buildings, which, of course were higher than our car could not be seen the first floor upwards. That was a pity since there were a lot of historic buildings.
Since we were on a tight schedule and had already lost over half an hour, we got really nervous that we would reach the end point respectively starting point at the main marketplace in time.
But then a completely unexpected thing happened. The driver announced that the battery was almost empty and we could not get back at all.
This is our experience with the tourist tram which seems to be a small business operated by two pensioners. The initial idea is great and appreciated but not managed very well.
I do certainly not recommend this experience.

Geeft een goed beeld van verschillende wijken in Antwerpen, de uitleg was helaas te zacht om te verstaan. We zaten aan de achterkant van een wagonnetje en het straatlawaai overstemd de uitleg.

Purtroppo nonostante la locandina indicasse chiaramente l'orario delle corse, nn si è presentato nessuno alla guida del trenino, e nn è stato possibile effettuare la visita della città di Anversa!!!
